There is a part of the game with jumpscares, whereas the rest of the game has none. There are many shades of red, green, and gray, but sometimes it’s hard to see what’s going on.
Most of Red Creek Valley is, ironically, green, making it hard for colourblind people to play. In addition, the subtitles may be a bit hard to read for some people, especially since some of them move around, pulse, and change sizes. There’s no distinctions between different voices and there’s hardly any written audio cues, so it’s not an immersive experience without noise. While it’s possible to play through if you’re deaf, it’s not a fun experience. Sure, there are subtitles and the voice acting is very well done, but I would hardly say it’s enough. Now, here’s where the bad part comes in: this game really is not accessible. Some argue that they aren’t the most beautiful graphics ever, and I can’t argue that however, it is absolutely beautiful, especially for an independent studio. I was absolutely dazzled by the scenery as the game progressed. It seems like it’ll be something interesting and dramatic, and in a sense, it is but to me (and it seems, to many others) it was a slight anticlimax. There’s no spoiler involved, but I think it’s important to note that the ending was a bit of a let down after the events of the games. What lies in wait is much more dangerous and murderous than expected–what has Ethan awoken, and what can he do to stop it?
